On my way home tonight and Transit van ran right into the back of me about 25mph. Reported this to the insurance company who have advise that the car may not be economical to repair. From the photo it looks as if the back bumper has taken most of the damage but I will know better tomorrow in the daylight.

P.S.

Many thanks to Del & Rabb yesterday who sorted my lights out at very short notice. It is great to have guys who you can count on who are honest and friendly and most importantly want to keep our cars on the road.

If that's not got an agreed valuation ditch the insurance route right away, they'll just write it off and most likely just take it away for scrap.

Far better off just buying a new bumper yourself and dealing with any rear panel damage if there is any.... will be a lot cheaper than finding/buying another one as good!

Jim, Hadrians still sell bumpers new. You can fix it for not a lotta money and from experience, even if its non-fault, your renewal would go up!!!!! Hard to believe eh?? My BMW(now ades dads) was rear ended. They paid out and when I went to insure the Bora the girl said that although it was nothing to do with my driving etc, I was "statistically" in a bump therefore more likely to be in one again within 3 years! (where do they get this 5hit)

AVOID THE DIRTY COWBOYS!! (and they probably don't know what a Capri is!)

Phone the Transit guy and get £100 off him

Agree, don't go near the insurance, they'll scrap anything for a wee bit of damage.

Saw you on the EK expressway this morning, was a bit late flashing my lights, heading the other way still sleepy Laughing
